Now known as Blaise Pascal (Lead Singer of ‘Men Of Letters’), Simon Jaymes was Indy award Finalist as Best Male Solo Act back in 2008, Runners up for online magazine and radio station Somojo as ‘Male artist of the year’ in 2010, Finalist as ‘Best Male Solo Artist’ and ‘Best Indie/Rock Artist’ with The People’s Music Awards 2011 and Winner of Raven Black Music’s Exposure Music awards 2011. With influences such as John Martyn, Dave Matthews & Pearl Jam his Debut Album ‘Wild Life’ is uplifting, thought provoking & musically timeless in a highly unique & original way. He lyrically communicates his songs as a storyteller, combining his varied life experiences with fantasy. Simon’s poignant lyrics, vocal hooks & catchy fingerpicker melodies integrate seamlessly with beautiful full-band arrangements. Recorded using only full live takes with minimal overdubs; this eclectic debut album displays his versatility as a singer/songwriter & guitarist covering the genres & sounds of Soul, folk, rock, melodic rock, acoustic, & blues. Simon has classed this album as Acoustic/Rock.
His Single ‘Sailboat’ & Debut album ‘Wild Life’ was released under his own label in 2010 (SJH Music). originally inspired by Mentor and Uncle, the late James Martin Rex for whom was known and respected as an accomplished record producer and engineer.
